Re: taking your wifes last name
[ QUOTE ]
I would make up a different last name for myself if I hated my own that much. Taking the wifes name wouldn't be an option, since no woman has ever come near me, which I like just fine; it gives me more opportunities to re-watch Saving Silverman. God, I love that movie. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: taking your wifes last name
If you have a crappy last name and your wife to be has a cool one then why not? Like, if your name is Chuck McDoodle and your girl is, say Jane Norris then of course you take her name, no question about it.

Re: taking your wifes last name
[ QUOTE ]
No way I would take my wifes last name. I would be really upset if she didn't take mine. Probably hit her. [/ QUOTE ] That is because you are probably white trash. If someone doesn't agree with me, I'll hit them. Boss tells me I did a bad job, I'll hit him/her, friend eats the last slice of pizza, him them. |

Re: taking your wifes last name
Two of my wife's best friends from college (male and female) recently married each other and they both changed their name to a hyphenated version, with the wife's last name going first.

Re: taking your wifes last name
My wife will take my name.
The only exception would be if her first name somehow rhymed with my last name or something that would sound retarded. |

Re: taking your wifes last name
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Unless your wife is making more money than you, this is completely unacceptable. [/ QUOTE ] even then it is totally unacceptable. [/ QUOTE ] Seriously. I've always figured my future wife would end up w/ my last name, but if she didn't want it, I think we could work out some sort of a compromise. No way in hell would such a compromise involve me taking hers. [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't do it either. But I don't think it is a big deal that other guys do. I don't understand the outrage in this thread. |

Re: taking your wifes last name
A friend of a friend's last name was "Teet." He married a schoolteacher with a 34DD chest and they felt it was best they keep her name.
Kids can be so cruel. |

Re: taking your wifes last name
Taking the wife's name makes no sense. I mean, it's always been this way, therefore it should continue to be this way. There's no other logical way to put it.
Also, marriage is a partnership between two equals. And in a marriage of equals, the man reigns supreme. |
