edit: the Scotland-Italy game is definitely one to DVR for many watchings imo.

by the way, how did UEFA manage to put the two WORLD CUP FINALISTS in the same group when only 2/8 qualify???

The rankings were determined using qualifying results from Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup. Matches at the final tournament did not count.

Three points were awarded for a win, one point for a draw and each team's per game average was compared to determine the rankings. Teams were then placed into "pots" according to their ranking and then drawn into groups. Greece automatically got to be placed in the first pot as defending tournament champions. Apparently Italy's results only put them in the second pot and they were randomly drawn into the same group as France.
