A few tough spots in 2/4 NL dealing with maximizing value (long)
Heres a few tough hands i played today, all comments appreciated. Heres the first, which is a really tough spot. Im not sure if i can value bet this hand that profitably eventhoiugh it is so likely he doesnt have an ace (Ace king goes all in, A Q and below probably fold). Theres a little less than a pot size bet left on the river, but i may have made him play correctly with a hand liek QQ or JJ by shoving. At the same time im not sure if i get him to pay off if it goes check check and by shoving i protect against the draw (eventhoguht its unlikely he has one) Thoughts?

I lead out here to represent a draw and i get min raised. Shoving seems kind of like an overbet, but a lot of hands pay off puttung me on a flush draw i think and re raising forces me to call all in anyway. Also if im good i dont want to have a scare card to come off and kill my action. He could also have a very good hand. All in all i decided to shove, thoughts here? Any thoughts here, the villian final tabled the main event one year but i dont know how good he is in cash games. Reflecting on this hand i think my best line is to check call/check fold depending on how often he floats the flop, but im not sure. Re: A few tough spots in 2/4 NL dealing with maximizing value (long)
Thats way too hard to read man. Try converting the hands and putting some space in between the hands as it makes it a lot easier to read and you will be more likely to get replies.

Re: A few tough spots in 2/4 NL dealing with maximizing value (long)
i really like a check on the turn on hand #1 because it will keep the pot smaller on the river if he is slowplaying an ace and will get mid pairs to call on the river if he checks it to you... hand #2 i generally wouldnt push but i guess its fine, your just not gonna get too many calls from hands you're beating besides a huge draw, maybe c/r turn?... hand #3 i usually would c/c river, you take a wierd line and i dont know what you're gonna get called by...

Re: A few tough spots in 2/4 NL dealing with maximizing value (long)
check turn on hand #1 . heres why, he is never folding an ace regardless, and if you check there tons of players push there reading it as weakness with anything from 55-QQ.
Hand #2 why such a huge overbet... you coulda easily made it $148 and not risked entire stack and gotten the same result. Hand #3 good.... checking on river also ok if you are confident where you are in the hand and are willing to take a c/c line on river |
