I think you played both perfectly. Sometimes you just have to lose a hand.

I agree with Andy that ysometimes you just lose as people out-draw you.

In the first hand you could have checked on 4th and got a double raise in on 5th, but I'm not sure if that is better or not.

In the second hand, I'd have raised on 3rd street with the King. This is to represent and to thin the field. Also, more believeable when the king came that you had trips.

Not sure any of this would have altered the suckouts which you need to accept as part of the game.

Hand 1. That is tough luck. Hand 2 auto complete 3rd even with dead 9. River standard.

Is there anything wrong with checking the river in 1? That's how I'd play it unimproved.

Hand 1 you can check the river, but given that the villian did not fold on 4th or 5th we can assume he probably does not have club flush draw. some hand like Jack and buried smaller pair is what i would generally have him on.

I think you give up too much by checking behind in hand 1. On hand 2, I don't like raising two limpers with a dead medium pair.

Hand 1 you were vulnerable by 6th street to the board makeup. Hand 2 you just got unlucky. He had a 3 flush and backdoor straight on 5th street and still called, even seeing that seat 5 had one of his outs and seat 3 had another. Plus he saw that 4 of his diamonds were out. Ugh. You want to play against people like this.

1st hand: good raise on 3rd and the rest of the hand is played well since you have lots of calling stations at those levels. In some cases try checking 4th (even though you are acting last) to give an opportunity to others to improve(if you feel you are at a tighter table) because you will always have the best hand and probably you can even get a raise in on 5th if its not checked back to you. Bet the river. Unlucky that they drew out on you.

Me neither, but I would raise here representing kings.
Bet 4th single for 3 reasons:
a)if they call your double bet, 1 might either have you beat (trips) or they are on draws (which makes you a slight underdog against 2 drawing hands)
b)you keep the pot smaller when you go into 5th hence you are giving drawing hands worse odds to call your bet.
c)give the fish an opportunity to chase their small pairs.
Good check on 7th. Unlucky again.
