Re: TPNK, experimenting w. passive lines.
Meh. I do try passive lines a lot in 6max, where villains use sensless aggression with nothing.
If your table is aggressive it's great, your passiveness with top pair will pay off, as they will just dump their chips to you. However, you said villain is unknown, so I tend to be a bit more careful and give them the benefit of the doubt. I would fire away probably on the turn and fold if raised, therefore "saving" me the extra bet on the river. |

Re: TPNK, experimenting w. passive lines.
Looks good. Small pot. You are wa/wb with that "kicker" so no use in scaring villain from betting.
Raising either turn or river would look really much like 5-trips so you wouldn't probably get called with a hand you beat. You might get a better King to fold though so maybe raising river is an option. Or maybe b/f river as not to give a free showdown? |

Re: TPNK, experimenting w. passive lines.
I play this kind of hand a little differently, usually. Since I hate being in this spot I often check raise the flop and try to the smoke the villain out a little. If 3 bet I could fold it.
Villain might play a smaller PP this way or even Ax since we haven't put him to any kind of test. Overall, on the flop I think c/r >> lead >> call. Just my opinion. |

Re: TPNK, experimenting w. passive lines.
I like it. You have an okay but not great hand on a fairly dry board against an unknown in a small pot. So I think getting to showdown as cheaply as possible is best.

Re: TPNK, experimenting w. passive lines.
My guess for the flop play is that bet~call>>>c/r.
I can't really se who we would like to fold in this baby pot and I really think people will bet crap more than call with crap. Or that was my thinking? |
