Daddy,

I would imagine they dont want you to be able to edit posts days later because it could cause weird results wrt future posts in the thread. (ie. posts that were made after the first time the person posted, but before the edit)

Ive said it before, but: there is no good reason to give us the option to remove the "edited by" tag when editing posts.

i agree, but i am a habitual ninja editor to add another thought that i forgot to post, so if that happened my post count would probably double

Why wouldnt you just continue to edit the posts as usual?
