Having to smell some kid's feces in a restaurant is totally disgusting...but then add the fact that this family is potentially spreading e-coli all over the eating area while doing so...it's unbelievable how self-centred some people can be.

OP, what was the state of the child and the diaper's relative cleanliness? I think many people are assuming there was feces involved, which I did not. Clarify please.

To tell you the truth, I don't know. After the pants came down, and I realized what was going on I tried not to look over there too much cause I didnt want to see what was actually in the diaper.

Talking to the family is close to useless. What do they care? The restaurant is looking at losing many customers because of one rogue customer. They need to be made aware of this, as they are the ones with something to lose.

The thing was to just about everyone else it seemed totally normal. The only other thing that happened was the two people sitting at the table next to them got up and moved tables, but even they did not seem to make too big a deal about it. The way they were in a big group made me think maybe it was the owner or their family or something.

who the hell cares? If diaper is coming off child, get to the bathroom.

[/ QUOTE ]

Clean-ish diaper and child: inappropriate, but not a big deal. I would roll my eyes and continue.

Feces-laden child and diaper: totally different ballgame. I'd certainly say something along the lines of "Excuse me, I'm trying to eat over here, can you do that someplace else?"

[/ QUOTE ]I don't have any kids, but I'm thinking that if the diaper is clean enough to be "not a big deal" in a restaurant, isn't it probably clean enough to stay on for another 30 minutes until you're home?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. And besides, urine stinks plenty and is extremely unappetizing. Even the urine of your OWN darling, adorable wonderchild of an angel miracle baby.

You're suppose to change them in the bathroom first of all.

If the family was vietnamese this does not suprise me at all. This is just part of the culture.
