Default Phillies Still Buyers?

In tonights Angels vs Mariners broadcast, it was reported that the M's have traded Jamie Moyer to the Phils for two minor league RHP's. I forget their names....

Will this matter?

The Phillies have a decent chance at the playoffs.

If they had only been more active 3 weeks earlier they could have had a .450 OBP hitter for practically nothing...

Of course it won't matter. As it is, any deadkube deakls hardly matter as the best case scenario is like a 1 win improvement.

My educated guess would be Abreu. You dog you.

Hmm. Last season for 'personal reasons', Jamie Moyer veto's a trade that would have sent him to the Astros and given him a chance to play in the world series.

And now he's okay going to Philadelphia?

ROFL.

I'm feeling pretty good about a rotation of Myers, Hamels, Lieber, Wolf, Moyer.

I'm not sure what other reasons there could be, but Moyer grew up in the Philadelphia region.

Yeah, eff him for going to a team near his childhood home. I mean, how could he possibly turn down the Astros, best team ever and famous for their second-half runs to the Division Series?

Do you ever not mention the Astros or an Astros player in baseball threads?

Of course I do and if you weren't too brain dead to actually read the forum you would see that. However, those times i'm not mentioning the Astros you're not getting the opportunity to troll and make stupid ass comments.

I don't follow the american league, so the only time i've even been aware of Moyer was his vetoing a trade to the Astros last season. Excuse me for mentioning it since it is relevant to this thread.

If i'm an veteran on a horrible team that doesn't have me in their long term plans, and a trade is made to send me to a contending team, i'm gonna jump on it. If he accepted the trade to Houston he could have opted out of his contract after the season and signed with Philadelphia for this season if he wanted to play at home so bad.

Keep trolling New001, keep trolling.
