Default Adjusting from online SH to live FR

Im planing to play live at a casino for the first time and I havent played any fullring for a really long time and when I did I was really bad.

Any general tips you may have you are more than welcome to write. I have some questions about FR. I will be playing 8/16 which is the lowest limit if it matters.

Is it ever ok to be the first coldcaller? EP raise I have 77-88 in MP/LP is it ok to coldcall or should I fold/3bet? EP raises I have JTs/QJs is coldcall an option or should I fold?

Is openlimping ever ok in EP? I have 66-88 utg fold/raise/limp all seem decent...

Blind defense versus EP raises, what should I defend my big blind with versus an EP raise and no calls?

Is it ever ok to coldcall out of the sb? EP raises all fold to me in the sb with 66-88, AJs, KQs, QJs, JTs what should I do with these hands?

Openlimp is very OK in fullring, but as closer you get to the button if noone has opened the pot you should be more inclined to raise any hand you intend to play

Usually live play is looser and more passive.
Coldcalling isn't better or worse becuase it's live and FR, but there are generally more situation where it's fine.

IMO it's best to play a little tigher at first, see how your opponents play and then use your skills to determine how to play.

Cold calling JTs and Qjs depends a lot on game conditions. Open limping early with a hand like QJs or 66 that prefers multiway action is usually fine. Depend the bb very tightly HU vs an ep raiser. Also, dont be as showdown bound live. I dont know where you play, but in general a turn raise isnt a semi bluff or a freeshowdown raise or a bluff and your 1 pair usually isnt good.

When I play live I always say before that I'm gonna play agressive, but afterwards I always think I played too passively. My experience is that most people like myself play more passively live than on the net so if you can play agressive live you should do fine and pick up many pots on the flop. When I play live I usually play 3/6 FR and before I go to the casino I repeat SSHE and HEFAP just to get into FR-thinking. So think agressive, agressive, agressive and enjoy poker as it is meant to be played...

I agree with a lot of the above. Actually when I play live, there is only 10/20 full ring at the local casino (well, it can get shorthanded sometimes, which is fine by me!). Now these tables often have several calling stations, so I generally play quite tight. Be selective about your starting hands: it's easy to get bored mucking hand after hand because normally when you are multitabling shorthanded online, at least you are nearly always busy. I also find it's quite tiring to keep up with the types of players that enter and leave the table, the card room rules, physical tells and the eye-catching members of the opposite sex that walk by now and then hour after hour. When you don't feel on top of your game, it's OK to stop, even if there are 5 donkeys at the table. I find I also tend to get hungry at the table, but I don't think this has a significant effect on the quality of my play.

NinaWilliams makes an excellent point: players don't raise-bluff nearly as much live. Perhaps it's harder to raise-bluff someone you just had a friendly chat with. A turn raise is always at least two pair, although not always the nuts (players will do this with a straight on a paired board or with a 3-flush showing). I do face the occasional raise bluff though, because I'm often the aggressor in the pots I play. While raise bluffs are uncommon, the usual bluffs like stealing seemingly unwanted pots and leading draws still take place.

Live low/mid-limit full ring is just annoying if you're used to playing online short. Blind steals don't exist and I find myself limping 97s UTG just because it's my first playable hand in fifty minutes. And nobody ever wants to play if less than eight players are sitting.

"will be playing 8/16 which is the lowest limit"

"EP raises all fold to me in the sb"

that pretty much isn't going to happen
