Default Will the FED lower rates again at the end of the month?

Just want to get an opinion from some of the more knowledgable posters on what they think will happen. Should they lower it?

Just a guess. Stocks will rise, gold and oil will rise, the dollar will fall.

If you look at the change in treasuries today I believe the odds went from 24% yes yesterday to 69% yes today. Take that for what you believe that indicator is worth.

Should they? No. They shouldn't have lowered last month. That's what gets you $89 oil.

I respect your knowledge and most of your posts but that oil comment is not entirely accurate.

How long can the Fed and the American economy hold on to a rising balloon?

Why are there always Bearish people? The American economy has been growing almost unfettered since the great depression. (Spare a few recessions) and the whole time there is always people talking about how its overvalued and its all going to come crashing down. I for one don't expect that to ever happen but who knows maybe some day we will see another great depression. The fact is right now our economy is still very strong and it probably wont slow down any time soon.

Will they? Probably. Should they? No, they should not have lowered rates last time either.

As for the $89 oil statement -- I find it unreal that oil goes from $80 to $89 on the chance that Turkey might invade northern Iraq. This is the country that can barely produce any oil right now, the market is overreacting right now and this is a definite price spike. Also, the chance of Turkey striking the oil infrastructure they do have is slim.

If it reaches $95/barrel this is a definite short-term short (assuming the war with iran does not start by then).
