[/ QUOTE ] Meh, with 4 to the flop checking isn't that bad. Betting folds everyone a lot of the time, but not building a pot isn't great and neither is a free card. It's part of why being OOP is worst than being IP. I'm not too afraid of being beaten. I think I like calling the turn and check-raising a non-spade river. You risk missing out if he doesn't value bet a K on the river, but I think you get the most value out of his one pair hands this way as long as giving him another chance to bluff if he has nothing. |

Re: STTF SNG->cash thread
flop check is OK if a) villain is aggro enough to stab w/ worse hands once we show weakness, or b) villain is more likely to call w/ worse after we check the flop

nevertheless, should i reraise the turn? [/ QUOTE ] I really like microbets line on the turn and river. I usually don't agree with him because so much of his experience/br comes from being a luckbox. Sometimes nice things happen like BB bets, MP and Button call and you can get into a really big pot with flush draw and a king or two. Anyway, I think you're right and I always bet when there's a flop like this because something like AK is so likely to get stacked. I just don't think on the whole checking cost that much. |
