Advice on moving up to NL 100$
I have been grinding NL 50$ on PartyPoker for a while and been considering moving up to NL 100$. I have the bankroll for this level but I have heard that MANY pros play on this level just to make a living. Is it as hard as people say it is, and how is it diffrent to NL 50$
I apologize if this thread already exist, but when I searched I couldn't find anything. |

A pro with a 8 PTBB/100 who four tables averaging 250 hands per hour and plays 60 hours a week will make $62k a year if he never takes a vacation. I think the 'pros' are playing at much higher stakes. If you are beating NL $50 then NL $100 will not give you any problems. |

Re: Advice on moving up to NL 100$
With pros I of course did not mean the pros that are making the BIG money. With "pros" I meant people with alot of experience/skill that just stayed at NL 100$ and doesnt bother to move up. And is just playing to make a stable extra income.

Just open up a table and start playing. It really is only the $50's with double the stacks. There isn't anything fancy or high level going on. Quit worrying, if you have the bankroll, just give it a shot. If you drop a few buy-ins right off the bat then move back down to the $50's. |

[/ QUOTE ] in fact, i find 100NL a little more straightforward. the range of hands that donkeys call raises with preflop is a little smaller so you there's a little less guesswork as to whether they hit. i hate blindly sticking my stack in with an overpair like you almost have to do at the lower limits because of how f'ing stupidly people play top pair/inside straight draws/etc. i feel like at the lower limits it's less poker and more how far can i swing my dick with top pair garbage kicker. i enjoy the analysis and, if you do too, you'll be happier moving up. if you drop a few buyins, rather than moving down, look at your play style first. you're probably playing scared and not taking the shots that you would have at the lower level because the doubled bets/raises intimidate you. the play is similar enough that this could easily be the cause. |

Re: Advice on moving up to NL 100$
If you are "good" at 50NL the only problem I'd imagine you'd have at 100NL would be mental ones.
I'm currently in the process of moving up now, as a I type this, following one of my fish pals around. I'll let you know if I find any notable diffrences. |
