Re: AC Casino Revenue
[ QUOTE ]
Offering poker is the same as General Mills putting another brand of cereal on the shelf. [/ QUOTE ] Your analogy is better than you think. If the freeze dried strawberries have a markup of 200% and the regular wheaties have a more standard 100% markup which do you think they'd rather you buy? It is very possible they would make more money by not offering regular wheaties. At least half the regular wheaties customers would need to switch to make the move profitable. |

Re: AC Casino Revenue
[ QUOTE ]
Does anyone know if you can find income statements of the casinos? I mean, revenues really don't tell me much until I can see the COGS, SG&A, and net profit. How expensive is it to run poker as opposed to craps? Just something I'd like to know... [/ QUOTE ] No clue about the first q, but my feeling about the second is ... 'a lot'. And even if it isn't, check out the volume #s -- for the borgata, 1.2m on 12 craps tables, vs 2.3m on 59 poker tables. I'm betting the overhead per table is significantly higher on the poker tables, but even if they're even, that's quite a difference. |
