Okay you video poker geeks, how about this one?
Local Indian casino has a ton-o .25 jacks or better machines with ONE out of the whole bunch a 9/6. With your club card inserted, you get 1 point for every $10, or 8 plays, on the machine. For every 100 points, you get $5 back. On Sunday, they double the points. So you get 1 point for every $5, or 4 plays, on the machine.
I'm probably wrong, but the first senario gives me about even money, and the second senario gives me about .05% +EV. Is this right? My other question is: Should I really give a [censored]? Or should I stick with the pohka? p.s. Video poker is fun when drunk though. |

My other question is: Should I really give a [censored]? Or should I stick with the pohka? [/ QUOTE ] It's up to you. How do you feel about making $3/hour? The comps are worth 0.5%, and 1% on Sunday. The house advantage of 9/6 JoB is about a half percent if you play well, so you can turn that around, and make less than a penny per play on Sunday. That's better than losing money, but not better than winning real money playing poker. |

... with ONE out of the whole bunch a 9/6 ... [/ QUOTE ] Pzhon is right on the money. There's a whole "ton" of these machines -- but only one employing a 24/7 shill who's making $3 an hour [maybe](without benefits). Why wouldn't they put one 9/6 machine in? |

Sounds like you'll make enough money to pay for your lunch but not for the gas to get there.

Re: Okay you video poker geeks, how about this one?
1% cash is not bad at all, but 25-cent single line JOB is too small to add up to anything interesting. Multi-line games such as triple or 5-play would come in handy here.
Does the casino ever offer anything better than double points? If I'm thinking of the same place, I'm pretty sure I noticed a 4x points offer posted to the web site for the July 4th holiday a little while back. I don't know about your bankroll considerations, but at 4x points, you can more safely move up in denomination, or play multi-line quarters even if the pay tables are only in the 99% range. |

This is Cypress Bayou Casino/Shorty's. Of all the machines in the joint, they have just that one 9/6, and its a quarter machine.
Sometimes if they games haven't 'juiced up' yet in the poker room, I'll sit at this machine at kill some time. So I was just wondering about the odds, thats all. |

how are the games there? what limits do they spread? [/ QUOTE ] 3-6-12 limit and 5/5 NL. The 3-6-12 plays like your typical LLHE game. The 5/5 NL game playes like a 1/2 game on the weekends and a 2/5 game the rest of the time. In other words, yummy. |
