I feel your pain but I dont think you have a recourse and I would be careful hiring a attorney unless it is on a contingency fee basis . I own and operate a athletic club and we provide both day and permament lockers and unfortunatley many times break ins have occured and we have been faced with members feeling similar to how you are right now . Legaly I do not believe you have a recourse as you did not place the mmoney in the care and custody of the hotel management or staff . While you were using the safe in the room the money was under your care and supervision not the hotels and you could of placed or cared for the money in any manner of your choosing. No bailment or custody relationship was established . While your situation is very unfortunate be careful not to compound the problem by paying legal fees.Good luck , I wish you the best but thought it might be benificial to provide you a different perspective........Jeff

Joke's on you two. Notice the "HIM" at the end, which you conveniently forgot to quote. Your cursory glance at that sentence means you missed the whole point. GG reading comprehension.

You don't think Letterman would book him? Maybe Springer? Judge Judy?

Deuce - You're kidding, right?
This is one of the most ridiculous ideas I've ever seen.

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, apparently my dry wit is all wet.

I have a feeling things like this happen all the time in Vegas, and wouldn't get more than 30 seconds on the 5:00 local news. Zilch nationally unless it was a million dollars or more.

I hope OP gets his money back somehow, but all the people who seem to think this is going to be some PR nightmare for Harrah's need to give their heads a shake.

Somebody got robbed in Vegas? Man, I wonder if they'll print extra editions of the local papers or just use every page of the regular version.

Come on, most cars in Las Vegas are probably worth more than $32K. How many front page car theft stories do you see about that in the local media? If you're really lucky you may get some local station to do one of their cheesy "channel 5 is on your side" segments about it, but even that's a longshot if you're already well off.

Good luck on Letterman, though.

im happy you are getting an attorney, the 750 insurance is total bull. i work for a high end hotel and our in room safes are covered for a lot more as well
just like how valets are covered for the 100k+ cars they drive

i hope you can find some sort of fault on the part of the hotel
something as simple as whos card opened your room door most
hotels room looks remember that last 50 key cards that entered the room
hopefully it was a staff card
and you can nail them

This is way off track. Stop mentioning teh lolscammaments, blatant myspace advertising, and my stupidity for not putting $$$ in the cage.
My friend, Allen Kessler, who is my friend, suggested that I post here just for some advice on what to do. My other friends include Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Patrik Antonius and El Diablo. I have pictures of my friends on myspace. Some of my friends told me if I don't wanna go public I shouldn't have posted on a public forum, so at my friend's advice, I'm not going public yet so I'm going to stop posting here now.

- Gl with stuff. EFU.
