Sometimes candidates have agendas other than winning elections.

i agree.... kinda wondering what that may be....

i have heard a few theories... but not sure of those.

IMO he's pushing for the name recognition to win a Texas Senate seat in 2010. The current senator in that spot is probably stepping down then.

Did you just make this up? Texas has two senators and neither is up for reelection in 2010; Sen. Hutchinson was just reelected in 2006 and won't be up again until 2012. Sen. Cornyn is up in the next election cycle (2008). Neither is rumored to be giving up their seat anytime soon.
