Suspenders

I have been watching a lot of Soprano's lately. I've noticed a very sweet fashion accessory: a nice pair of suspenders. I've been trying to do some research on the internet, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of folks who still rock this particular piece of clothing.

Anyone have any thoughts? Are there very expensive and stylish suspenders that everyone but me knows about?

I usualyl wear suspenders at more formal events, church, weddings, funerals, etc. to find the good ones you have to shop at the boutique men's stores, I rarely see anythign worth it in the department stores. never buy brightly colored ones, black, grey, brown, etc.

i own 6 pairs but have never worn them once.

they look real cool hanging in my closet though.

Those in the know call them braces.

Get the ones with tabs--clips look childish. Don't get them if you don't wear pants at your natural waist. If you wear them, don't wear a belt and don't have belt loops in your pants. And if you use "rock" as a verb they're probably not for you.

I saw a co-worker with a pair on the other day and really liked the look. I thought about getting some but I know I would never wear them. I also think they look better on fatter guys.

Ya, the belt loops thing is the key, I have suits for everyday wear, that have loops, and arent as high quality, than I have the the nice ones that are made for suspenders, french cuff shirts etc, hency why I only wear them at formal things.

Braces were in fashion for about 15 hours back in 1989 IIRC. Thankfully I was asleep at the time.

Good slacks are supposed to have buttons on them for suspenders, IIRC. That's all I know. A nice belt >>> suspenders these days.
