<ul type="square">[*]The opening night party (Thursday November 22 from 2100-2300) is for registered players, meaning people who have qualified online before then and people who buy-in for the Main Event or High Roller Event in-venue that day. Each registered player can bring one guest to the party, and we will be checking names against a list. The party venue is in the Grand Waldo Casino.
[*]As a qualifier, it's not a problem if you miss the party. It might even be an advantage on Friday as you'll be one of few players without a massive hangover. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
[*]Qualifiers register for the Main Event by going to the APPT Macau registration desk (cashier cage) at the back-right of the casino floor (next to the bottom of the escalator). You'll need to fill in a mandatory registration form/waiver (giving us the right to use your image in the TV production) and show ID with a name that matches the real name in your PokerStars account. We'll then give you a seating assignment and a nice "PokerStars.net APPT Players Bag" with some clothing and other goodies in it.
[*]People who haven't qualified (those who wish to buy-in at the Grand Waldo) can do so by taking their money (HKD or USD) to the Grand Waldo Casino's cashier desk and purchasing chips equivalent to the buy-in for their desired event. Those chips will then be used at the APPT Macau registration desk for your buy-ins, and the same registration form will need to be completed. People buying-in with chips will also need to show ID.
[*]A LOT more details on how cash buy-ins are being handled on-site for all events will be posted on www.appt.com early next week.
[*]APPT Macau registration will only be open on Thursday November 22 from 1000 to 2000 (as all my staff will be attending the party). We will re-open on Friday November 23 at 1000, and as the $2,500 Main Event looks like it's going to be close to a sell-out we will handle registration on a first-come first-served basis. Govern yourself accordingly in respect to when you arrive to stand in line.
[*]We will only have 27 tables on-site and all will be 10-handed. We can accomodate 270 starters and up to 30 alternates. Capacity for this event will be 300 players (and it's phenomenal that we're even contemplating this given that we only announced this event two weeks ago). But we'll consider the event a success with 200-250 players.
[*]As at the time of writing there are now 132 players registered for the $2,500 Main Event through PokerStars and we expect that number to hit about 165 by the time online qualification and buy-ins close on Sunday. Note that there's a TEN PACKAGE GUARANTEE running on PokerStars on Saturday November 10 at 2003 EST. That means there will be about 135 seats available on-site in Macau, and we'll hold about 20 for satellite qualifiers who plan to play (and win) on Thursday November 22.
[*]In respect to the $15,000 High Roller Event, well... that's another story altogether. Confirmed (and paid) for this event are 7 players: Joe Hachem, Isabelle Mercier, Scotty Nguyen, Barry Greenstein, Van Marcus, Liz Lieu and Terrence Chan. That makes for one spectacular (and very tough) field. A *lot* of other players from around the world (including several High-Energy Action-Oriented Players from across Asia) are talking to us about this tournament and we expect quite a few people to buy-in on-site. But it's hard to know exactly how many to expect. My guess is for somewhere between 40-60 players.
[*]Finally, in respect to food, I *strongly* recommend the hot pot on the 1st floor of the Grand Waldo. It's great![/list]I look forward to meeting you all in Macau.

There are still plenty of economy class seats available on United's San Francisco-Hong Kong nonstop flight on November 20 (United flight 869, arriving in Hong Kong on November 21 at 6:45pm in plenty of time to connect to the 10pm TurboJet Sea Express ferry to Macau.)

I'll probably meet up with some of you at either San Francisco Int'l Airport or Hong Kong Int'l Airport Sky Pier. I won't be surprised if there were more than a dozen players on the Wednesday (November 21) 10pm ferry.

I just won the 215$ satellite to Macau,
Although I very much want to go, I am not 100% sure I will be able to.
Dose any one know what are my possibilites as far as getting the buy in as W$ ?

I won a satellite and unfortunately cannot go. They said I can use the $3100 that you get for a APPT event next year. I think it is doubtful that they will allow you to exchange it for anything else.

Is getting on the 22th (evening) less recommended ? or should it be fine ?
