What range of VPIP and PFR should I be playing at 100NL 6-max?
I am new to the forums and new to 6-max cash games. I have played a lot of SNGs (9 handed, 6 handed, and heads up) and the occasional 9 handed cash game in the past couple of years. I have Poker Tracker and recently added PAHUD in order to gain a better feel of my oppenents while multi-tabling.
My main question right now is what kind of range my VPIP and PFR should be for 6-max cash games at the 100NL level. I have played 21/12 over my first thousand hands which I feel is probably a little too low. Thanks for the help. |

You have to play exactly 22/18. If you're playing 23/17 you're cold-calling wayyy too much.

21/12 is bad. You are probaly limping and cold-calling way too many hands.
There is no magic formulla, but your VPIP and PFR should be closer connected. I play around 20/17 myself, others like to play 25/20, and nits like to play 14/11. It is all player/table dependent. Stop limping and start raising more hands in late position and see where it gets you. |

There is no "perfect" style. Just try to adapt to the table and different villains, find they're leaks/weaknesses and exploit them. That said, I'm playing an average style of 23/20 which comes from playing 18/16 on one table and 26/22 on another.

Start low and nitty - 14/12 or somthing and work your way up to 30/25. Throttle it back and find somthing that works for you. 19/17 to 25/20 seems to be generally accepted.

I'm like 18/16 and so far it's working pretty well. That's an average of my early and late position stats -- utg and utg+1 I'm much tighter. Just never open limp and cut down your cold calling range.

Thanks for the recommendations so far guys. I'll try to cut down on the limping and see how that works.
