I don't think the Pats will want to use the top 5 pick, though. I expect it to be traded.

if they end up getting something like 2 firsts and a second for that pick i'll be disgusted. If they end up having to devote a ton of cap space to some player who is a year or two away from making a major impact in the league then I think it is good for everyone else.

I wonder who they would they take if it is top 5 and they don't trade it. Jake Long?

the most pressing need would be a ILB to replace Bruschi/Seau. other top picks will likely be a CB (if they don't resign Asante) or a WR (if they don't resign Moss).

Pats are pretty sat at both lines

Already good teams don't (and shouldn't) draft this way. See Addai, Joseph.
