Default NL50 AJ 3bet...

Villian is is tight passive. 20/3/1. I realized the 3bet probably wasn't good choice considering that. After I hit the flop and he check calls, I'm pretty lost on this turn...

check flop, he isn't calling with a worse hand.

call/bet turn

check/fold river.

you are only getting 1 street of value here. Anything else is suicide.

Explain to me why we shouldnt be betting this flop? Dont we always want to be the aggressor? If we dont we likely face a bet on turn and the rest of the hand plays out in a big meh according to me.

i wouldnt rr pf v. a 3pfr. not really great, his calling range crushes you typically. i dont really mind a fold pf, sometimes a call.

anyways, as played, flop is fine, though i find a check there very often. you typically won't get 3 streets (or rather 2 given stacks/pot) vs. QQ.

turn i suppose is value right? i think checking the turn is probably better.

I bet significantly less on that flop and will usually check this turn behind.

River is gonna be real tough but I will probably call most bets.

"Villian is is tight passive. 20/3/1..."

As mentioned, folding pf isn't bad but as played, I don't mind a flop bet, easy to fold to a raise from this player and we get value from the two hands we beat. Checking would be fine as well. On the turn I'm definitely checking behind, he's not calling QQ/JJ here. I probably fold to a river bet from a villain with these stats unless it's very small, he's not betting QQ/JJ there and we really don't beat anything else.

Fold preflop. Check the flop. Probably check the turn as well given your flop bet.
