Default 114$ stars - A9 standard call/shove?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG (t1080)
MP (t2795)
Hero (t3880)
SB (t3460)
BB (t2285)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to t1055</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero?

Villain could have pushed very wide here but I was not happy with my position.
Is this a shove?

How do you go from $16 to $114 buyins? Was the $16 tourney (or this one) someone else's hand?

I do play 16$ as bread and butter and I mix them with 60$ and sometimes 114$.
I hate playing 27$, although a lot of people would disagree with me I find 27$ far harder than 60$, everytime I sharkscope them there are far less losing player in 27$ than 60$.
Anyway, bottomline, I play 114$ mostly to learn and having a bit more of "money challenge" which I don't have in the 16$.

Could this be because there is simply far less players playing the 60s?

Possibly but I also noted there is plenty of people with very limited number of SNGs playing there (100&lt.
My theory is that the random dude playing 50$ on SNG will just try the 604.
Yesterday I ended up in 2 60$ being the only one with a winning history all the rest very inexperienced players or very losing one.
While in the 27$s usually there are 6 regulars min.

I'd say push, UTG should be pushing at least top 50%, which you're beating easily. Nobody else is going to call without a monster if you push over him.

you only have 2 players to worry about overcalling, really easy push for you.

let me know how you get on at the $114s
