Default 50nl-bottom set on draw heavy flop

How would you play this?
Reads: BTN villain is semi loose pre flop and neutral post flop
He would do this only with: any 2 pair, set, straight

50 nl holdem
hero(bb): 52.35 (8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img])
sb: 5.63
btn: 35.35
co: 55.72
mp: whatever

preflop: Co, Btn and SB limp , hero checks

flop(2): 10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
sb bets 1.10, hero raises to 4.28, 1 fold, BTN raises to 8.56, sb goes allin for 5.38 total.
Hero: ?? Btn has 26.29 left and pot is 20.22

Why are you playing 88? If you're set mining- you got to push IMO. But this could suck if he has Q9.

FWIW- if co and btn limp, and sb completes, I'm raising this pf to 5.5bb. That way hands like Q9 and 79 fold.

Anyhow, at this point, your way ahead of draws, top pair, and 2 pair. Hard to put him on a higher set if he didn't raise 1010 of JJ from BTN. Straight it possible.

If you think he has the straight- pot control- anything else- push.

Since it's a limped pot it doesn't look like BTN has TT or JJ, unless you know he would limp with these hands. If you go with your read that he would not do this on a draw then it's a marginal push:

Results from http:\\www.HoldEmRanger.com
46,530 evaluations, 47 hole card combos

Board: Td Jc 8c

Wins Ties Equity
49.26% 1.01% 50.28% ( 8s8h )
48.71% 1.01% 49.72% ( JT,J8,T8,79,Q9 )

If BTN would do this on a draw then you're more like 55-60% equity so definitely push.

Against a super-passive opponent the correct play is fold, even for 100BB, but I don't many people are doing that. I would probably fold for 150BB+.

On a side note, this is a lot like question #33 on www.donkeytest.com.
