Re: post here when announcers (or the media) say or do something stupi
[ QUOTE ]
ESPN POWER RANKINGS Last week Jags were one spot ahead of the Titans... both teams had bye weeks, now the Titans are one spot ahead of the Jags.... glad to see a lot of logic goes into the rankings [/ QUOTE ] Vince Young is 1 week more poised, though. By year's end, they'll be ranked so high it'll be a negative number. |

Racist ban obv. A couple of weeks ago on Sunday NFL Countdown, Smith said "A leopard does not change his stripes." [/ QUOTE ] I heard that and nearly spit coffee everywhere. But it's very hard to argue with that statement |

I've been watching Cubs/D'backs for 10 minutes and Ron Darling is already killing me.
On why the D'backs keep winning: "They just literally come through with the clutch hits every time." On Mark DeRosa: "You may look at his stats and say there isn't much production there, but he's a winning ball player." |

Re: post here when announcers (or the media) say or do something stupi
Bump for Andre Ware earlier today. Wisc is down 2 touchdowns, has the ball with about 3:30 left on the clock and is facing a 4th down somewhere around their own 30, I'm not sure where exactly. Illinois has been running all over Wisc, and indeed was able to run out the clock by picking up a first down at the end. Anyways, the genius Ware is trying to say that it's a good idea to punt the football down 12 with under 4 minutes to go. Mike Martz knows more about clock management that he does. I have no idea how he still has a job, he is bar none the worst announcer in any sport ever, worse than McCarver, worse than Hawk Harrelson, worse than Joe Morgan, he's just awful.

It seemed so ridiculous, I had to do a double-take to make sure it wasn't the 3rd quarter instead of the 4th. |

Re: post here when announcers (or the media) say or do something stupi
In the Clemson-Virginia Tech game, the Hokies fumbled, and recovered the ball at the bottom of the pile.
Announcer: And now Clemson might as well use a timeout to stop the clock. Instead Clemson uses the timeout to challenge the play, which they might as well because they were going to call timeout anyway. Same announcer: HOW DO YOU USE A TIMEOUT TO CHALLENGE THAT!!! |

Same announcer: HOW DO YOU USE A TIMEOUT TO CHALLENGE THAT!!! [/ QUOTE ] That would be Mike "What's Britney doing with her life" Patrick. Though it was kind of a useless move by the coach. The funniest part was the Clemson fans starting the "BUL*SH*T" chant after the ref announced the call would stand. |
