wow I played this bad I think and it\'s a weird spot anyway
Full 60 game. Button is tightish, not good but not retarded. I've only shown down good hands at this point so his 3bet probably means good hand. Limper is a huge fish, that's why I isolated him.
UTG limps, fold to me in CO I raise K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] button 3bets, we both call Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Check to button who bets, fish calls, I call? Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Check to me, I bet because this getting checked through would qualify as a disaster, button raises, fish coldcalls, am I drawing dead/2 outs too often? |

Re: wow I played this bad I think and it\'s a weird spot anyway
Interesting hand. Perhaps I would've bet it on the flop. If fish is really a fish he should be on a flush draw.
I don't think you are necessarily drawing to 2 outs, but close to it, let's say for arguments sake about 3.5 (JJ, AA, 88, AJ, QTs) are still possible, which gives you 4 outs. AsQ, AsT you have dominated. Of course it looks like AK.. grrr In summary, I would call the raise (11 to 1). If a King comes I would call, if an 8 comes, bet. If not fold. But darn, that's close |

Why do you think you played it bad? |

I think the correct and standard play would be to checkraise the flop. Button might 3 bet a worse hand and protect you / charge the fish and you don't risk weird things happening on the turn.

Re: wow I played this bad I think and it\'s a weird spot anyway
I don't like the c/call on the flop to try for a c/r on the turn, not on this board, you'll see it get checked through too often and that, of course, would suck monkey balls
I c/r this flop all day as played, I'm calling turn for one more bet and reevaluate river, there are still too many hands we beat to not continue, and even if we're behind, we probabaly still have a couple outs |
