December 2006 thread

Here are the eligible system plays for this month. Not much going on, and I may pass on the Orlando and Milwaukee trips depending on how they're playing.

miami - 1/5: PHO, POR, SEA, GS, UTA, LAL
cleveland - 1/9: SAC, PHO, LAC, SEA, POR, DEN, GS
orlando - 1/10: GS, LAL, PHO, NO
milwaukee - 1/19: SEA, POR, LAC, SAC
new jersey - 1/22: SAC, GS, LAC, DEN, UTA
charlotte - 1/26: LAL, GS, DEN
chicago - 1/31: SEA, POR, UTA, SAC, GS, PHO

Tonight presents a dilemma. The Heat, who are all kinds of banged up, face Phoenix. Right now, the Suns are -3000 to win on Pinnacle. Even though the unit size is small for this system, we're in bridgejumper territory. Should I play nonetheless? I mean, the chances of Miami winning 6 road games against the West without Wade and Shaq are infinitesimal, so I would emerge with one unit by playing. But is it worth risking 30 units tonight and several hundred units in the next game on the off-chance that Phoenix loses? Just to win one unit?

This is why I hate the system. And probably won't try again next year. But I'm up 20 units now and determined to see if it works for this season.

Edited to clarify that a unit for this system is, like, 0.2 percent of my BR so a several hundred-unit bet next game if Phoenix lost tonight is theoretically feasible.
