I'd raise the flop this deep for sure. I can't think of any reason not to.

That was my first impression of him too but I don't think he's that bad, just a little non-2p2 style.

how come nobody is really advocating a flop raise? shouldnt we be raising flop near 100% of the time this deep? i mean we have 500+ bb's behind so we want to make the pot big as possible on the flop with the 2nd nuts to make turn and river value bets a larger chunk of the effective stacks dont we?
its not like we knew he was gonna go nuts on the turn when the A hit...

Don't raise turn and call unless you are willing to play for stacks.

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't really agree w/ this. Raising, at the time, was the most +EV play. Just because he 3-bet doesn't make the decision to raise wrong...and we don't have to necessarily play for stacks here either given how deep we are. I mean like 95% of the time, he's just calling this raise and probably paying off a (now) much larger river bet. Saying we shouldn't raise turn is being too results-oriented IMO.

As for the actual hand, wow, I'm tempted to dump the turn. Definitely dumping river though. Of course I rarely ever play this deep (like most here)...so take that FWIW.

margarine was not saying to not raise turn. he was just saying that once 3 bet, you have to either play for stacks or fold immediately. looks like a fold this deep against this player

The more i think about it, the more i think AA is a huge part of his range. I think he isnt value shoving the river with AK unless he thinks you can call with A8 which imo its a very easy fold and he should know that. So the only hands he is Vbetting the river are AA, KK and 44 (44 hoping we have AK) weighted heavily towards AA making it a fold.

Totally sick spot none-the-less. I doubt id be able to find the fold in me.
