FWIW, Idleminer has been very responsive in responding to my emails requesting support.

Hi Carl,

What time period are you referring to exactly? There was a slight gap during a transition on our end, but we have had a major increase in support for IdleMiner in the last few months. Any email we receive is answered within a 24 hour time period. I will try to keep a closer eye on this thread for those of you who are posting questions or problems here. My operating system is Windows Vista, would that be the problem (full tilt miner crashes)?

Most of our Vista users run in XP service pack 2 compatibility mode. You can set this by right clicking the icon and selecting Properties->Compatibility. There will be an option to run in XP service pack 2 mode. Additionally, you might try running IdleMiner FTP as an administrator.
To set up IdleMiner use the following procedure:
1) Make sure you have hand history extension saved to .txt
2) Make sure you enable Keep Persistent Copies of .tmp files
3) In FTP, go to Options->Hand History and make sure you have enabled Save Hand Histories
4) Make sure the output path for FTP and IdleMiner match and that there is a folder with that name. If there isn't, create one.

This wont run for me, every time i try to run it it asks me to update it despite me having the newest version

Which site are you using IdleMiner with and what version do you currently have? We released a few updates in the last couple of days so you might actually have an older version. Have you run the update yet?

So you are currently running v1.63. After you run the update does it ask you to run the update again? You might try restarting your machine if you haven't already done so since updating.

I should mention that I required support the other day and my problem was responded to and solved very quickly.

On that note Idleminer still tends to crash on me quite frequently which has still not been resolved.
