Default Re: AQ correct laydown?

My numbers cold-calling preflop from blinds with AQ are awful. I've taken to just folding them against solid opponents (or looser ones raising from EP) and 3-betting opponents who steal a ton.

As played, pretty much a fold. If I'm BTN, I'd certainly consider c-betting over half the pot. If I'm hero, I probably raise to $5. ($4 makes it $2.90 for him to call, pot now $7.40, giving him about 2.5:1.)

And if I'm villain, I'm only 3-betting to $9 from $4 if I'm trying to induce a call because I have AJ or JJ.

This is a fold against a player w/ those stats as long as there's no metagame going on between you two. I'm re-raising this preflop against someone who raises 17% of the time pre-flop, especially when he raises from the button.

I hate this actually. You have put in 4.70 of the 9.65 that you have. I dont think that you should ever raise here on the flop if you are not willing to get it all in. I am not saying you are wrong in the fact that you are probably beat, but raising here with the intention of folding to a push is just giving money away imo.
