New attitude at Bellagio

So there have been a few posts about how bad the attitude of the brush at Bellagio is and a more recent post about some shake ups there.

I played two sessions this past weekend. In the past when I played $8-16 there was a guy named Tim and another caucasian guy with a moustache that ran the boards in the evening for the low limit games. Both were pretty rude and discourteous to me on numerous occasions. The moustache guy smiles like never.

This time Tim was on the mid limit games. I went up and put my name on the $15-30 list. Contrary to the past, Tim was extremely nice. I mean, downright charming. I was shocked. He looked around for a seat and seeing that none were open, told me that I was first up. In the most friendly manner possible. Well I tipped a B floorman for the first time. FWIW, the moustache guy was still running the low limits and looked pained and constipated the whole time.

I went back again on Sunday. There was a long $15-30 list, but no tables available. The floor person this time was Danielle(Danette?...floor supervisor). Anyway, she was about one of the nicest casino employees I've ever seen. Really decent. When a table was available and the list was long enough, she made a real strong effort to get the game going right away. Very very good and 3 players at the new game tossed her a red bird for her efforts.

Finally, there has been some stuff written about a floorman named Boba. I didn't not know who he was by name. But I heard his name called and instantly recognized him. He is the only floor at Bellagio that has always treated me politely and respectfully.

Anyway, I'm glad to see the changes in the way Bellagio poker room operates.

That's good to hear and maybe it was a little bit from 2+2ers and posters on other sites that helped get this change. From what I've read here in the past it seems like it was long overdue. I'm a firm believer that if a company wants my business then their employees better treat me with at least a modicum of respect or else I'll simply take my money somewhere's else. Unlike a few posters here I believe that if a casino offers games at a certain limit then they must have a business need for those customers.

Was Boba working at the B? I haven't been for a bit, but the early rumors indicated that he was one of the casualties of the shakeup. It's good if he's still there.

Stern - all the people you mentioned were the good eggs IMHO, the best the Bellagio has to offer. Usually the complaints were not related to them (although we have heard equal praises and complaints about Boba - I personally believe complaints about him are generally unwarranted because he is a fantastic floorman), they were often gripes about the low limit staff. I havent been playing there too much in the past month or two, but when I stop by I have barely noticed a change in service - it seems to be the same quality level as before - but then again I never experienced the complaints that so many others had with the exception of the need to wait at the list for a floor/brush to be available to add my name to the list.

At the low limit section it was like that except that when a floor person would come up to the desk they would not look at you, acknowledge you, or anything....and most of the time they would leave the desk again without ever asking if you wanted to be on a list. It was beyond frustrating and difficult to deal with. And then if you returned to check where you were on the list they would again not acknowledge you. And if you tried to peek over the desk at the list to see where you were on the list, often the floor man would swipe it away or gruffly say "hey, what are you doing".

This has been my experience 100%. When I first started going to Vegas about 5 yrs ago I was treated like sh.it @ the B up until I started playing 15-30 & above and then I was at least aknowledged at the podium.

At the low limit section it was like that except that when a floor person would come up to the desk they would not look at you, acknowledge you, or anything....and most of the time they would leave the desk again without ever asking if you wanted to be on a list. It seems like the best change they could make for a more player-friendly brush area is to have a screen with the games listed like most rooms. I asssume there's a good reason for the secretive clipboards. Can anyone explain why? Even if they lose the attitude, it still seems like a bad way to run a room. It makes it a lot harder to figure out how many games of which type are running, how long the wait for each might be, etc.

A secretive clip board allows them to use other than first-in-first-out to seat people. It's harder to sneak your buddies and the good tippers in first if the whole world is watching the lists.

I like Danette. She's always decent to me. The thing is with the Bellagio floor people, you have to be patient, but you also have to be to-the-point and short with words. Just look around the room, and think about what it would be like to coral 300 players and keep up with all the lists, tables, etc.

Boba wouldn't cut the rake at our table when we got down to six handed, b/c he had 4 seats open in other games. I thought that was BS tbh, b/c we had to break our table, and draw cards for the 4 seats. People seem to like Boba, so I'm giving him a chance, but so far he seems like he doesn't really care about players as individuals, just games in whole.

But yeah, if you give the floor a redbird, they'll do a lot for you. I was playing 5-10 NL in the corner, and I gave Dinette a redbird b/c I had my headphones on and wanted to play 15-30 or 30-60, so she came all the way over to the other side of the room, tapped me on the shoulder, and told me my lock up was ready. She's nice.

If you're reading this and playing at the B anytime soon, give Danette or someone a redbird regardless of whether or not you deal with them, because I for one want the Bellagio to be the best room in LV this summer.

That's not much of an excuse. Bigger rooms than Bell seem to be run with a lot more courtesy.

That's a familiar tune. That happened at my table just this past weekend, although I don't know if Boba was involved. I tried to explain to the guy that even a reduced rake was better than losing the table, but he wasn't buying it.
