I think it was wrong to call (rather than raise) on the flop. But -how- wrong, that is the question? Also, should I have acted any differently on the turn (or river, for that matter)?

preflop is a must raise. I don't get the turn overbet at all. Just bet $8. River looks fine.

[/ QUOTE ] Action looks all [censored] up since you say you called instead of raised. Don't limp with Jacks, they're a primo hand play them as such.

The turn overbet was because I was pretty sure MP1 was on a draw so I wanted to make him pay to see the river. Why was the sizing of it wrong?

pre flop - JJ is the 4th best starting hand. If your not raising with this then what are you raising with?

flop - sweet

turn - you obv want to bet enough so you can go all in on the river, but you dont need to overbet to offer him incorrect odds to draw. A pot size bet would offer him 2:1, which is incorrect odds for an 8-outer, especially since you can fill up if the board pairs.

If you had of bet $10 and he called, your all in bet on the river would be roughly $26 into a $30 pot which is fine.

River - totally spewy card. If you had played in the way i mentioned i prob would have check/folded or put in a small blocking bet. As played, you are obv. pot committed so arrrrrin is fine.
