yes but its a small hand, shouldnt i play a small pot then?

carnivalhobo is right. the concept of pot control gives your opponents some credit for being able to fold hands worse than yours if you play your hand too hard. if your opponents are terrible and never fold, you might as well felt TPTK against them.

so youre jamming here with two callers? this is like calculating EV for a SNG bubble.

i know im about 70% here even against two players but ive spewed so many chips pushing TPTK that im trying to slow down with it.

you *know* you're 70% and you expect them to call? i don't understand, what are you waiting for?

i know this sounds foolish but i just came out the other end of a tilt session last month and im taking a careful look at my game.

its an obvious call but i still hear those words, "play small pots with small hands and big pots with big hands". its quite common here to read things like, "Dont overplay TPTK or overpairs"

the memory of losing so often this way is burned into my head and im struggling with it.

makes me wonder if there are other spots where im tightening up at the wrong moments.

whether or not you think your hand is good is a reasonable question. if you somehow know you are a 70% favorite, though, i don't see what the issue is.

Regardless of how good a hand is in a vacuum, 4-handed against the types of players you're talking about, I'd raise this hand preflop, and once I hit the queen, I'd bet it hard.

4-handed vs loose callers, TPTK is a hand I'll felt if I know they'll felt worse.

I always raise this preflop, if loose players want to call so be it. You should have more than your fair share of pot equity.

I also 3-bet the flop raise to get this HU. If he pushes on me, it's down to reads whether to give up or call.

so youre saying that the value of a mediocre hand OOP goes up because of the wide calling range of this table. ill miss the flop most of the time but when i do hit it'll be worth it because i can extract without worrying about being beeatn (trips, better kicker, etc.)

correct?
