there is a thread about this in sporting events. but personally i feel like the champions league is the greatest format/idea of any sporting competition in the world.

best thread idea ever.

after reading fshfdfkduck's post in oot about having lots of sex toys. why not a "Ladies of 2p2, tell us about your sex toys" thread. i guarantee a fire icon next to it within 12 hours of start.

the movie threads are doing reasonbly well.

i think a thread on foreign films (or multiple threads on different countries' films) could be pretty good. i know enough to give overviews of french and german film, and i'd love to know more about the big film traditions of italy, russia and japan. i'm also interested in movies from countries with little cinematic history, for example iran.

I got through half the thread and saw El D's big post on suggestions, and thought I'd offer my services on a couple.

I have been a waiter (or waitron according to Anthony Bourdain) for about 8 years. I work at a French restaurant modelled after traditional bistros, and we have a really nice cheese plate which changes the selections at least twice a week. I've gotten to know many cheeses well, and I think I could help 2+2ers when they go out and want to order 'asiette de fromage.'

I also have a decent wine knowledge, so I can help with cheese pairings, or just dinner pairings.

Hit me up -

Jay

What about a 'favorite word' thread in which posters can only post one word -- an uncommon but interesting/useful word -- with definition taken from dictionary.

Mods: I've pasted a word in white below, with definition farther down and also in white. If you look at the word and don't know the definition, but then choose to look at the definition and are glad you did, then you have to use this topic. Deal?

Word: callipygous

Definition from m-w.com: having shapely buttocks
