Default gonna get flamed for this one! (hedging)

Got jax +9 as my last leg of a live 8 team teaser. Basically I'm wondering how -EV it is to bet colts -3 with the possibility of a middle. If it's only marginally -ev than I'll take it and enjoy the game. If it's hugely -EV then I won't. Any help guys? thanks!

I believe that optimal bankroll growth calls for hedging right now...I'm not the math expert on this

It should call for hedging. I'm gonna imagine this a +6 and they payout is like uber high, so yes.

Yea it's +6, 15-1, made it at the last second before kickoff this morning, no clue if that is the best payout for 8 teamers. Hedged and thanks.

Artdogg,

I can't really say what hedge would be best, how much, etc etc since I can't do this complicated ish on my own, but I'm almost positive hedging is correct and probably over like a weird combo of ML/Alt spread/spread in some fashion that I won't understand after its explained to me.

np, I didnt even do the basic math myself. +525 if the colts win by 10+, +750 if the jags lose by 2 or less, +2125 if it middles, + 1500 if the colts win by 3, +1625 if the jags lose by 9

good enough for me unless someone jumps in and says it sucks

Artdogg,

I mean theres a way to calc optimal... I think. From what I've seen, they look confusing. I'd probably just donk it out.
