Default reraised pot in position with a bluff catcher -- nl cash 3/6

we're all of 12 hands in. he's seen me reraise 2x oop with weakish hands. he hasn't reraised yet.

the two hands we've played, he's taken passive lines.

effective stacks are 650 or so

i raise 33 otb to 18. he reraises to 72.

at this point, what do you put him on? (72 is a bit much for a first repop at 3/6 -- usually you see 54 or 60 or sometimes 66). should the slightly larger raise affect the range i put him on?

i call.

pot (144)
flop 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
he shoves for 580 . . .

i agree aboot the re-raise. it seems quite large for the fisrt re-raise of the match. at that point im putting him on a range like 55-AA, possibly AK,AQ. the oop shove makes me think he has either hit a set and is protecting against the draw, or has ak,aq. seems like a weak play to me here, i cant imagine what hands call here other than a made str8, or a set, poss QQ-AA, So i dodnt see the value in shoving other than to get you off your hand. your threes are probably good.IMO

I probably call here because his overbet looks weak but it is a very loose call. It is possible however that he is one of those guys who are so afraid fo board like that that they push all in like idiots when they have AA on that board. I call.

I'm not a fan of your pf call. If he 3bets to 54, sure, but you're really just looking to flop a set here so I'm mucking to the huge 3 bet (especially early on).

I'm not much of a hero caller, so I fold the flop too - again because it's early on. If he does this a lot you'll be able to get your money in way better than this. You're gonna kick a kitten if you call and he flips a4o or some crap like that. Another thing - villain basically never has less than 25% equity here, so you have to think he has no pair an awful lot for this call to be profitable.

I don't know how to post PokerStove analysis here, but I put him on a range of A8, 77, KJ+. However, up and down a little, it is about even money against that range. If it is 3h, then it is 57% and you have to call.

I believe he actually decided to shove here before he even looked at the flop.

I cannot see how you can call without a better read. True his hand could be overs but more likely with this line a medium PP which doesn't want you peeling with high cards. I would fold to the re-raise pre though if it is his time as getting only 10-1 when there is no promise of a stack off at that point seems like you are being overly hopefull.

when i call pf, i'm not just trying to hit a set.

does slightly more than normal tilt his range away from aa-jj? does it matter at all?

also, most of the time if i'm good i'm only a 25% favorite. on the flip side, when i'm bad a good % i'm only a 25% dog.
