Had I bet the river, he would have folded. I felt safe that he didn't have a Q or would have been checkraised on the turn or the flop.

You know if you bet your opponent will fold his gutshot, or his 2 outter but if you check the turn and river, perhaps he throws in a bet when you have a huge edge.

Your hand is too good to check here. If you bet, he might raise an A, and you get to 3 bet.
