Here is an example from last nights session.

Had I bet the river, he would have folded. I felt safe that he didn't have a Q or would have been checkraised on the turn or the flop.

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (5 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, Button calls.

Flop: (7.40 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

Turn: (4.70 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

River: (6.70 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 8.70 BB

Villian turned over a busted straight and MHIG

[ QUOTE ]
well here is an example...

Hero is UTG with 99 and raises. Folded to CO who cold calls.
Flop comes 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

You bet, CO calls.

Turn comes an A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

You know if you bet your opponent will fold his gutshot, or his 2 outter but if you check the turn and river, perhaps he throws in a bet when you have a huge edge.

[/ QUOTE ]

Your hand is too good to check here. If you bet, he might raise an A, and you get to 3 bet.

And no one folds KT, come one now.

The first example was not great. The second is better.
