He's smiling at McCain when he tried to compare Paul's non-interventionalist foreign policy to the rise of Hitler. Paul's facial expression basically said, "I can't believe you just stooped that low." McCain must be feeling the heat from Paul in New Hampshire, especially among independents. I can't think of any other reason why he'd just attack him out of the blue like that.

I think that he believes that. Most people do think that isolationism is what cause WW2, the idea that if France, Britain and other countries banded together right away to crush Germany WW2 would have been no big deal.

Yeah, big problem for RP is that most of the American people hear "non-interventionism" and immediately think "Isolationism" and appeasement with Hitler, etc. I did like how RP owned McCain in his rebuttal and on the subject of troop support. McCain really set himself up for that one.
