Welcome to the forum (and good luck in the army or wherever you are right now). At the moment, there are three possibilities for timing:

1. As posted above in this thread, start the tourney on Aug 5 and give people at least a week to play each round
2. Start the tourney on Aug 5 and have people play the rounds in a shorter timeframe (favored by Alaei, for instance)
3. Have PokerStars set up the whole thing for us and potentially play the whole tourney at once (looking into this option - in discussions with PS)

Either way, we'd love to have you participate.

any news? only 6 people registered in 10k hi stakes showdown as of yet, not a good sign I guess..

sounds like 2 divisions, round robin style to determine each 2 final players per division could be interesting.

It's going to happen for sure. We have at least 8 people, but looks like it might be more like 10-12. I am in discussions with Stars to get it all officially setup through them. I'm also in discussion with FullTilt to see if they could act as an official escrow for us, even though they cannot set up the tourney. If anyone has any personal contact with either site, that would be great. Worst case scenario, we have a few people escrow 50-100K ourselves, but for obvious reasons we'd like to avoid that.

Af far as trusting an escrow goes I'd go with Stars > Us > FTP.

You have specific stories against FTP?

cmon you know FTP's history of closing players accounts, confiscating funds etc. I'm not saying they can't be trusted at all. I'm just saying that I'd trust Stars first, CTS Krantz etc 2nd then FTP 3rd.

Excellent. I will post when I get definitive word from PokerStars. Hopefully soon. I PMed Genius, btw, and never heard back - so if anyone knows him maybe give him a buzz? Figure he's the type of degen for this type of thing, too...
