meh, do cops really patrol on foot anyways? not sure since i've never spent a lot of time in a big city, but around here they're always in cars and whatnot, and on tv they're always on horsies.

Two reasons to like the Segway

My roommate and I were talking about the Segway last night, mostly because we saw some campus police on bikes instead. I can't help laughing everytime I remember the breathless hype campaign leading up to the debut of the Segway. "What is IT? Dean Kamen will REVOLUTIONIZE TRANSPORTATION! Airport security will look stupider than ever before! IT'S GOT GYROSCOPES MOTHER [censored]!"

EDIT: Also, I rode on one of these in a mall store. IT was fun. The leaning necessary to drive it makes me think that it would be awesome to have a race on these things where all of the contestants have giant American Gladiators "pugile sticks" to try and unbalance their opponents.
