I think this idea will probably be skewered, but I like a flat call preflop. We have a hand with pretty good equity against a SLAG's opening range and we're in position plus CO is coming along for the ride.

If we get a favorable situation postflop we can get more money in then. Otherwise we can get away having invested 2.5BB instead of 24BB.

What I guess I'm trying to say is EV of calling > EV of 3-betting.

Feel free to chime in if I'm off here.

raise smaller preflop $20 does everything 25 does

its pretty close since you are getting a good price, position for potential free cards and 3/4ths the money behind

you can see a flop

illini, your math has some flaws, because you have calculated that everytime you flop a monsterdraw or 2pair, you get all of his money, when in fact you are usually 50/50 with a monster draw and will sometimes get drawn out on when 2pair against an overpair.

Yeah, I thought something was wrong, that is it. Thanks.

Me, I would love to let it go. You're toast.

This is so results oriented and completely wrong. If this move looks crazy to you, you might need to work on being less predictable.
