Re: This is my standard, but is it spew? AK pre flop, NL $50 6m
4 bet all in pf >>>> 4 bet to any other amount >>>>> calling.
getting our 4 bet to say $20 called puts us in some very tough situations oop, it may mean we fold the best hand alot. You have to call if he pushes over you anyway. Pu him to a decision for all his chips with QQ,JJ,AK. When they fold these hands it is obv great for you. If they are decent theyd fold AQ/AJ to any kind of re re raise anyway. |

InsideEdge,
I rarely 4 bet shove with any of my hands as I view it as a gross overbet shoving $50+ into an $7 - $8 pot. So doing it here wouldn't be good. |

I find that alot of players will call $20 with hands like 99 or AJ but will fold if put to a decision for all of their chips. So my standard is to 4 bet to $20ish with all of my big hands.

[/ QUOTE ] This is exactly why I don't overbet shove big pairs often. Their ranges are way wider for calling. I don't know why. But AK I hate to put the other half of my stack in or fold on a missed flop, so I'm more inclined to overbet shove AK. That's somewhat exploitable, but hard to detect. (unless I blurt it out all over the internets) |

When I used to do this at 50NL I didn't find it profitable. So weird.

Leviathan, great post (I think!) - I have only skimmed it, but will go through it more later. Thanks for taking time to compose it.
