We can't do that. AP paid us a half a million bucks to endorse it. Then they sent me an extra half a million after they read my post.

I thought 2+2 had sophisticated software to detect this sort of thing.

exageration is also what people do when they get [censored] called on them and they cant refute it.

edit for one more dig: AP is dumb but i'm sure they know they can buy you for far less than that.

As long as the profit motive is your main motive.

[/ QUOTE ]
David, let's assume AP/UB ownership/management knew of the cheating and actively lied and tried to cover it up. They now say they've turned over a new leaf, fixed the cheat mechanism and booted "the consultant" responsible, but as far as you can tell they're still owned and managed by the same people. Let's say you can make $a/hr playing at AP/UB, and at the next most profitable site you can make your current real-life hourly earn ($b/hr).

How big would a/b have to be in order for you to decide to choose to play at AP/UB over the next most profitable site?

Assuming it's bigger than 1, how much of that is attributable to the risk of getting cheated or otherwise screwed again?

How much of it is out of a desire not to pay rake to bad people?

maybe not my place to say this, but it seems to me that AP is trying anything to get a break from 2+2. i don't know anything about DS except from his books and tournament footage, but him saying "In other words most people won't pass up unfair advantages if they can get away with it" makes me think he might be one of "most people". and AP would think of going to him to try to influence all of the community.
i never had an AP account, but after seeing all the clear evidence of what happened i uninstalled my UB client due to the affiliation of the two companies. and if i found out that all the poker sites were doing it, i would quit online poker.

What an awful, awful, post.

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you talking about your own post, or Sklansky's post?

[/ QUOTE ]

Sklansky's. HTH.

[ QUOTE ]
Anyway Sklansky makes alot of sense, as always, and I agree with him that AP is probably fishier now. Im gonna go hop over there pretty soon =-)

[/ QUOTE ]

He makes sense because he is advising you to do what you intend to do. He seems barely acquainted with the facts. He thinks the main problem is that AP had no fraud detection software, and that they still don't have that software. What does he think they would have done, turned themselves in because they caught themselves cheating? And the security team did raise concerns, but were told that the managers were just trying something new out, or some such nonsense. This according to an inside source. I cannot link you to the post, and cannot remember who made it. Probably adanthar or Nat.

Now you really let the cat out of the bag. I don't think DS will have his name associated with AP.

DS does not equal DAAH SUPERUSAAH

Think of someone you hate. You have a choice between:

A. You getting $50k and that person getting $10k
B. You getting $25k and that person getting $0

If you choose B then you are a moron.

I don't get why everyone is hating on this OP.

[/ QUOTE ]

C. You getting $55k and that person getting $200k. Whats the right answer now?

I don't blame you though. Just makes AP's decision to ignore the whole situation and hope it goes away over time seem like a possibly successful strategy.
