Default Bob T. is in the well.

[ QUOTE ]
A stranger is being shown around a village that he has just become part of. He is shown a well and his guide says "On any day except Wednesday, you can shout any question down that well and you'll be told the answer".

The man seems pretty impressed, and so he shouts down: Why not on Wednesday? and the voice from in the well shouts back: Because on Wednesday, it’s your day in the well.

I am having arthroscopic surgery, including the microfracture surgery in the morning. My doctor says that I have to sit out the 2007-2008 NBA season. When I get home, and am sufficiently recovered from the anesthesia, I will respond to as many questions as I possibly can.

Thanks for going in the well, Bob.

What games can you usually be found in at Canterbury? How often do you play? Do you play online?

Do you plan on moving up anytime soon?

My participation in the forums is a result of thinking that I was better than I actually was for a long time. I ran well for a solid year, built a bankroll and several months ago finally went broke. It has been a long haul, but I now recognize my leaks and I feel like I have really turned a corner in my game just in that I am here participating everyday and trying to get better. Do you have a story like that at all? What got you into poker and and how has your game and poker career changed and fluctuated over the years?

i think it would be pretty sweet to get at least one answer from you before you've fully recovered from the anesthesia.

you're one of the few posters that has been around small stakes since the 2002 upgrade(and likely before).

you've likely seen alot of names come and go over that period of time. does any post or couple of posts stand out as "defining moments" in the history of this forum? any personal faves or turning points for you as a player?

who is your fav. 2p2 poster of all time?

Hey Bob, really enjoy your very informative posts.

1. Tell us about your beginning journey as a live player. How long did you stay at what limits and how long before you moved on up?

2. What was the limit that you found that there were some good players in the game?

3. Anything about bankroll management wisdom that you can lay on us?

4. When you took shots at higher limits what did you buy in for generally?

5. Favorite poker Book?

6. Angelina Jolie or Pamela Anderson?

As a MN player I have some unique questions here.

@ CP What levels which you have played lately have been especially juicy, which have been dry? I play everything up to 8/16 with most of my time being spent @ 4/8 but lately I've been playing 3/6 bc the games have been amazingly good where the 4/8s have been way tight.

2)With the current rake structure @ CP are games like 3/6 and 2/4 beatable long term?

3)In regards to live play what are the most recent changes you have made in your game to increase your winrate

4)At what level @ CP do you think solid LAG play is a winning style. I don't think it could ever work @ 2/4 3/6 and even some lineups all the way up to 8/16 bc you get looked up way to much.

5) I'm going to Mille Lacs today and probably will be playing 3/6 full kill how much will I win or lose in terms of dollars... :P

Thanks for this. I am a regular reader but rare poster.

1. What are the top LHE books that you have read/studied?

2. Do you recommend any training sites?

3. How much do you play online? Levels?

4. How do you adjust your play for shorter (6 or less) tables?

5. Can you offer any LHE tourney advice?

T = Tamanaha

Tama is written with the chinese character for Jade. It means prince, diadem, or ball.

Naha, is the capitol of okinawa.

For our family, (most of my uncles played baseball) we translate it as 'Ball player from Naha'.

[/ QUOTE ]

If I had to study poker on a desert island, the five books I would take with would be, HPFAP, SSHE, TOP, Middle Limit Holdem by Jim Brier, and Stox's book.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think reading and posting here is a good idea.

3. How much do you play online? Levels?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have a full time job, I am a pit manager in a casino. So I play part time about 20 hours a week. Maybe 3500-4000 hands a week online, and probably an average of about 4 hours a week live. I start looking for games at 5-10, and work out from there. The highest I have played is 15-30, and usually the lowest limit I play now, is 3-6. I think that finding the right makeup of a game is a lot more important than being a 5-10 player or a 10-20 player.

I would like to mix in more live play, because I think the games are immeasurably softer, but the overhead in getting to the cardroom, and waiting for tables makes it a lot easier to play online. I usually play one or two one to 2 hour sessions a day.

[ QUOTE ]
4. How do you adjust your play for shorter (6 or less) tables?

[/ QUOTE ]

I pretty much play like I would in late position in full ring games. The thing that I think is much more important, is playing against the particular player that you are involved with, in each hand. There are fewer players at your table, and I think shorthanded players adopt more extreme styles, and because of the nature of the game, those styles affect you more than they would at a FR game.

[ QUOTE ]
5. Can you offer any LHE tourney advice?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not really, but I have had some LHE tourney success, I pretty much just play my usual game, and try to pay attention to what adjustments my opponents are making.
