How long do I have to grind for a iPod??

On PokerStars it costs 17,000 FPP.

Roughly, how long will this take me if I'm playing only NL$25 with a few $5 - $10 tourneys sprinkled in there.

Forever. Convert your FPPs to T$ in the 70 fpp sats, then sell the T$ and use the $ to buy your own damn ipod without the OneCall markup.

disclaimer - no idea of how good the ipod FPP value is or isn't in the Stars store.


Step 1. Play for an hour on however many tables you normally play and see how many points you earn. Then multiply it out.

At some point you will be at silver VIP status which is 1.5x FPP earn-rate.

On NL25 6-max at about .13VPP/hd perhaps and 100-120 hds/hr I'm going to guess 15 VPP per table-hour.
So 4-tabling is 60 VPP/hour or 90FPP's/hr if you're already silver-status.

Crank it up to 5 tables for 100+ FPP's an hour and you can make it to your 17k FPP's in less than 170 hours.

And don't forget that at 4k VPP's for the month your VIP status increases to gold so you are earning FPP's at 2x instead of 1.5x.

The occasional tourney won't make much of a difference.
$5 tourney earns 3 VPP's. $10 tourney earns 5 VPP's.

Note that new models of iPod might be released next week sometime. There are rumours of that substantiated by low stock of existing ones and also it's almost been a year since a new one came out. That makes buying one with cash an even better idea.

I have gotten the 30gb ipod from stars. It does not come with any pokerstars logo or advertisement anywhere.
