[ QUOTE ]
It's much more likely that retarded voters cost Gore the election because they couldn't figure out how to follow an arrow.

FYP

If you can't figure out the ballot, your vote shouldn't count anyway.

Each candidate is responsible for gaining the votes they need to win the election. It is Al Gore's responsibility to appeal to the voters he needs to get into office. If he does not do this, and Nader gets those votes, then the failure is solely on Al Gore.

Also, I think its impossible to assume that those who voted for Nader would have turned around and voted for Al Gore, had Nader not run. They may have voted for another candidate, not voted at all, etc.

And you're wrong about Nader. He never got Bush elected, it's absurd to parrot the major news media's crazy ideas about 3rd parties.

Did those couple of thousand votes matter ? Hey, we have been at war for years because of them.

[/ QUOTE ]

We would have been at war anyway.

Perhaps you should know that we don't live in a actual two party oligarchy, even though it seems that way. And people have a right to choose whatever candidate they want to vote for. Nader provided the needed service of standing as a candidate who represented a group of people who were not represented in either major party. His determination in the face of assured failure should be applauded not denigrated. It's repugnant that people actually blame this man for the 2000 election when all he did was provide an alternative choice.

[/ QUOTE ]

Indeed. And even if 100% of Nader's votes would have gone to Gore, people should be blaming the system, not the candidate. Implement Instant Runoff Voting and this simply isn't a problem, so the Democrats once again have no one to blame but themselves.

Again, Gore carries his home state and the results in Florida are meaningless.

I hate self-centered, history making, third-party candidates.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL, as opposed to the mainstream politicians who aren't self-centered?

[ QUOTE ]
Colbert is in it for the publicity.

[/ QUOTE ]

WHAT??? REALLY??? What a startling revelation.

[ QUOTE ]
Nader got Bush elected.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's people who believe retarded logic like this that causes retards to get elected.

[ QUOTE ]
Now this creep is thinking about running again.

[/ QUOTE ]

Good. I hope he gets more votes than ever, even though my political views are very different from his.

[ QUOTE ]
A vote for either is a wasted vote.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, a vote for a neo-con or corporatist socialist is a wasted vote. Which means all the mainstream party candidates except Ron Paul.

[ QUOTE ]
It does not make a statement.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wait a minute... you just said Ralph Nader was the deciding factor in the election, and you're saying that doesn't make a statement? If you were right about Nader, I'd say he made one hell of a big statement. You don't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed.

[ QUOTE ]
Colbert is not near as funny as Ross Perot.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ross Perot was funny because Dana Carvey made him funny.
