Which would you rather have for 2008?

$50,000 weekly freerolls as they run today

or

2,000 FPP monthly Supernova bonus - 500 FPPs to clear $100
every Supernova would have the option to purchase once a month

[/ QUOTE ]
How about emailing Supernovas near the end of the year and tally which option receives the most support? Seems simple enough I guess.

B for sure. Of course us Supernovas who don't play the freerolls will vote B, so the interesting responses will be from those who play the freerolls to some extent.

If the freerolls were to stay, Sunday would be a better day for me and for most IMHO.

I would definitely like to see an official survey sent out to all Supernovas near the end of the year if overhauling the freeroll/reward structure is something Stars is considering. It is nice to have input in this.

B obv

Moving it to Sunday wouldn't change the fact that it isn't worth my time or effort to deal with playing it each week, and it would still be very inconvenient to have to play at a certain time each week, no matter when that time is.

Everyone - the bonus kind of sucks.
It's not even $1200 for free because you do have to spend points to get it.
You are spending $30 of FPP's to get $100.
So it's really only an extra $70/mth that Stars is giving you because you would otherwise be spending those 2k FPP's on other stuff like points-for-cash or concierge or whatever.

So yesterday the $50k freeroll was worth $47.
So if you are interested in and/or have the time to just play in 2 of these each month you are still doing way better with the freerolls. Even moreso if you have the ability to cash in them every once in awhile which obviously isn't hard.

Obviously if you REALLY hate the tournaments and the time-commitment, which I do understand, then getting ANY cash to not have to feel obligated for the tourneys is better than nothing.

But you are getting about $17/wk from Scottyy's cash-bonus proposal vs. a $50/wk tourney value (which I guess is likely to go down since there should be more players who make it to SN by the end of the yr....but may go back up as some of the SN's drop out by Feb 28, 2008).

I'm not dead-set against the cash-bonus option because I really am not too keen on the freerolls either.
Just pointing out that value-wise this is a step or two backwards.

Here's my problem. I work Retail, which means I NEVER have a saturday free (and vary rarely) a sunday free for tourney play.

So, I Think i've gotten to play in one of the Supernova tournies because I was physically unable to go to work that day.

This is the reason I would have to vote option b!

I'd rather play the freerolls and have a shot at winning some real money, but it is really not possible for me.

Forgot to add:

Moving the freerolls from Saturday to Sunday changes absolutely nothing. Pretty much the exact same either way.

I hate tourneys because they lock up my time too much.

Scottys proposal sounds a lot like a free $800 to me next year, since I get 0 freeroll value.
