[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] It doesn't say for what point in time you want the final velocity even though it mentions that it takes 10s to hit the water. [/ QUOTE ] no [censored]! but it becomes obvious as soon as you read "object takes 10 seconds to hit the water" AND NOTHING ELSE AFTER THAT. if the problem read: "an object takes 10 seconds to hit the water. the body of water is 1000 feet deep. assume constant density of xx. what is the final velocity of the object." then it damn sure would be zero. but that would be a pretty stupid question. [/ QUOTE ] So why even include 0m/s as one of the possible answers? [/ QUOTE ] to trick idiots? looks like it worked just fine. [/ QUOTE ] HU IQ test? |

Re: Science quiz linktarding
I'm usually all over questions having multiple potentially correct options when they're "IQ Quizzes," since those things try to get tricky at times, and you have to basically guess how tricky the test writer is trying to be (or capable of being).
But for this thing, I think you have to keep it simple, since that's what an 8th grade science test would be doing. Since I never heard of a "water cycle" I ended up getting that one wrong. |

Re: Science quiz linktarding
Jasper,
"0m/s relative to any other object near the earths surface" Where in the question did it say this was on earth? |

Re: Science quiz linktarding
Jasper,
Wait a sec, so you're saying it is reasonable to make some basic assumptions about what they mean in the question based on the information given? |
