captain,

I thought this was in the running for worst movie I've ever seen. I can't think of a single thing about it that didn't suck.

oh c'mon....

the gin-rummy scene with Pat Morita was entertaining....and so was the 7-2o vs. KK scene.

I thought it was entertaining, even if the movie as a whole was poorly made. I'm assuming it was straight to video.

I thought the movie was okay. A lot of that opinion is probably based on the fact the movie seemed ultra budget.

Yes, the bluff was very impressive.

I thought it was terrible as well. Was thoroughly dissapointed in it. I can't remember specifics, but I made a post at another website about I think - yeah, here's what I said:

"I thought it was half-decent at best... Felt more like a remake of Rounders/Goodfellas/Sopranos than anything else. I don't know, it wasn't very informative...I think it should have been placed in the hands of a better director, like Scorcese, who is the master of bio movies."

Someone asked me if it was worth watching,

"I guess, if you have nothing better to do. honestly, I felt it told me nothing about Stu Ungar."

But yeah, didn't think Imperioli was good for this. And the editing/directing was terrible. I havn't seen it in a while though, so I can't add anything else.

That sounds like the opinion of someone who hasn't seen Shade.

A Night at the Roxbury can't be considered the worst movie of all time, since it had no potential. It starts so low and is about such a stupid concept that no matter how bad it is/could be, it wouldn't be the worst movie of all time.

That's why I consider "The Day After Tomorrow" the worst movie of all time. It sucks on every possible level, but the people that made the movie clearly tried to make a good/serious movie. I never thought anything would beat Final Destination as my all time worst movie, but The Day After Tomorrow smoked it!

Sorry for the thread-derailing. I liked the movie, but it definitely could have been better. I find the personality/talent of Stu Ungar so interesting that it probably compensated for the bad parts of the movie.

Game Over

Stu really was bad though. bad characters, acting, script, cinematography. everything seemed amateurish. i strongly suspect the people defending the movie are just suckers for poker/gambling stories and may also have a stu ungar fetish. if thats really your thing, i can see being able to look past all that, but the average viewer would probably rather watch some vincent price b-movie than the Stu Ungar story.
