I call it the "now I got you, you son-of-a-[censored]" move.

It's reserved for those times I am very strong, but fear a 3-bet flop will get villain to fold. This was I get at least 1 BB out of him. It seems to get people on a momentary tilt so they re-raise out of anger and not hoiw their cards say.

ya i would probably do the samething too, since you said your opponents bluff way too much. If you dont CR you are missing a lot of value there.

In point of fact, if your Villan really "bluffs way too much", you may have lost a BB by not waiting to c/r the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

Care to justify? I don't think he'd be firing a third barrel often enough. And when he checks behind on the river, hero is kicking himself for playing the best hand so passively.

Poster, well done, IMHO

You guys need to lay off the pipe. 3-betting the flop is way better.

I'm not really sure how this qualifies as "curious". In point of fact, if your Villan really "bluffs way too much", you may have lost a BB by not waiting to c/r the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is awful advice against described villain.

Hmpf, I guess the [sarcasm] tags didn't show up. I think the censor is going a little overboard.

WHY?

Hero is preflop aggressor, and he ends up HU on the flop. If he 3-bets here, usually villain either folds the turn, or calls turn and folds river. Hero loses 0.5-1.5 BBs.

- Flop 3-bet gets less credit that a turn c/r. The chance of him folding to the turn c/r compared to calling the flop 3 and folding turn is way less.

- he checks behind with non-zero probability. Even tho it might not happen often it will cost a [censored] of bets

- He will sometimes raise the turn with a worse hands allowing hero to get the 2 bets in on the turn and 3 bets in on the flop.

There are prolly a lot more arguments for the fast play. Those were just the ones I could come up with.
