Default so i pretty much flop the nuts and just call down

40/80 game from a week ago

2 limpers. an aggressive (when he wants to be) co who doesn't really need much preflop to raise raises but he's not a complete moron so this isn't 73s, but it could very well be Q9s, and i call on the button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. sb folds. typically bad but not braindead bb calls. limpers call.

flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

bb checks. limpers check. co bets. i call. bb calls. limpers fold.

turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

bb checks. co bets. i call. bb calls.

river: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

bb checks. co bets. i call.

limit holdem can be pretty boring right?

You gotta put in a raise somewhere postflop, turn looks like the best spot for it.

Also, preflop I'm kinda meh on, your relative position isn't that great.

If he's action postflop raise the flop.

Once the str/fl comes into play, turn raise a must. I'm also not crazy about the coldcall. If he could have Q9s as you say, I'd rather 3 bet than call 2 cold and maybe whittle it down.

the thing is, this guy isn't going to be 3-betting me with like KQ here, overpair possible but he is likely to shut down shop if he has air and not give excessive action without an 8.

and all those guys behind who might peel with god knows what...

there is a possibility that i might have gotten the turn and river cards wrong because at the time i didn't view the board as drawy or threatening at all. also if more than just one person peeled the flop i would have popped the turn for sure.

I believe you should've raised the turn. The limpers folded on the flop so you are risking just losing BB while the bettor will probably call netting you the same 2 bets if you pop the turn. The flop did not look drawy but someone w/A-3s who decided to peel one on the flop could have just picked up a b/d flush draw, so you need to make them pay.
I like preflop call better than raise. You have a good multiway hand and raising will not necessarily create you more outs as big Aces might come in anyway, so you are not risking much be letting the blinds in. Your hand is probably best P/F and a little deception never hurts either

river = overcall more likely than getting your raise your called?

or hoping it gets raised behind by worse 8?

which of these factors is more important?
